About Jessica

Jessica is a wife, mother, grandmother, businesswoman, entrepreneur, and a woman of faith.

At the age of 51, with over 24 years of professional experience and nearly 22 years of marriage, Jessica is stepping out in faith to share her life lessons as a woman and as the wife and mother of a blended family. Jessica’s mission is to support, strengthen and empower blended families by providing practical and spiritual tools that foster unity, prevent divorce, and help build strong, resilient bonds rooted in love, respect, and faith, allowing them to thrive as a whole, united family.

Jessica's life is a story of resilience. From battling serious health issues as an infant, growing up biracial during a time of social prejudice, and being raised in poverty by her single mother, to struggling with insecurity, depression, and addiction as a young adult, Jessica has faced significant hardships. She became a single mother herself but emerged as a survivor despite it all, drawing strength from her faith and determination.

In 2002, Jessica married the love of her life, Tyrone Pickens, just 90 days after they met. Together, through prayer and hard work, they built a strong, lasting blended family, raising six children over the past two decades.

Originally aspiring to be a physician, Jessica earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. However, she chose to prioritize her family over her profession and shifted her career path to government, eventually earning a master’s degree in public administration. With over 20 years of combined professional experience in the public and private sectors and more than 12 years of running her own consulting firms, Jessica’s passion for helping others has always been central to her identity.

Now, driven by her faith, Jessica shares her personal journey to help others navigate life’s challenges, particularly those unique to blended families, despite the fears and vulnerabilities of opening up her life.

"Allow me to assist you with overcoming your blended family challenges by empowering you to implement strategies to address issues and heal wounds as you build a stronger, more resilient blended family unit."
